Alfred Klairmont
CEO & PRESIDENT
In 1978 Alfred Klairmont joined Imperial Realty Company, a family business his father Larry Klairmont started in 1956. Today, Al oversees Imperial’s portfolio of more than 80 properties in the Chicagoland Metropolitan Area having over ten million square feet of commercial real estate. Under his leadership Imperial Realty has grown to become one of Chicago’s Largest Real Estate Firms. With an established reputation of integrity and forward thinking and with a long-term viewpoint, Al is hands-on in the process of finding, buying, rehabbing, leasing, managing and maintaining Imperial’s commercial properties. Most acquisitions were purchased as distressed properties and have been subsequently guided to success through rehabilitation and repositioning to meet the needs of the respective marketplaces.
Al directs a staff of 50 professionals which includes legal, architectural, space planning, brokerage, leasing, management and maintenance expertise. Additionally, in March 2007, Al was inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. The Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame recognizes the innovators and leaders in the Chicago area. This distinguished award is given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated entrepreneurial talent by founding and/or growing a business in the Chicagoland area.
Al graduated with his Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Illinois in Urbana. Among his hobbies are the dozen or so civic boards and committees he serves on. Al grew up in Chicago’s northern suburbs and still resides there with his wife of 40 years and has three children.

Bob Klairmont
VICE PRESIDENT
Robert (Bob) Klairmont joined Imperial Realty Company in 1980 as its Vice President. Bob is responsible for overseeing the company’s brokerage department, tenant representation department, management of 2+ million square feet of retail, office, industrial and self storage facilities, and renovation/construction management.
Imperial Realty specializes in taking under-performing commercial properties and upgrading or redeveloping them. A good example of this strategy is the The W.F. Hall Printing Company complex in the Belmont/Diversey/Cicero area of Chicago. Under Bob’s direction, Imperial Realty purchased this vast property, demolishing it to make way for Hall Plaza, a 250,000 square foot shopping center, anchored by Walmart and other retail businesses, including McDonald’s. Further north in this complex, Imperial built the state-of-the-art W.F. Hall’s Self-Storage Facility. The remaining 145,000 square feet of Hall Printing Company was converted into high ceiling, efficient industrial space. Finally on the Belmont Avenue side, a 9,000 square foot retail center servicing the auto care industry was built.
Bob graduated from the University of Minnesota with Bachelors degrees in Business, Economics and Sociology. Bob is married and has two children. In Bob’s free time he enjoys relaxing and racing in his sailboat on Lake Michigan and spending time with his family.

Julia Klairmont
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Julia joined Imperial Realty in 2013 in the leasing department and quickly won awards as the firms Most Active Broker in both 2014 and 2015 closing over 200 new lease and sale transactions. Today, Julia is responsible for negotiating and approving all new leases, as well as overseeing and negotiating renewals, modifications and expansions for Imperial’s 4,000+ tenants.
Julia works closely with Imperial Realty’s brokers, property managers, project managers, legal and HR departments to oversee any and all logistical operations of the company. As the 3rd generation of her family’s company she strives to provide all of her tenants exceptional service. Being a life-long resident of Highland Park, she brings a great deal of knowledge about the North Shore’s communities and has long-term relationships with many property owners.
Julia graduated from University of Oregon with a Bachelor degree in Sociology. She serves on the board of the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation and is a member of Chicagoland Association of Shopping Center Owners. Julia lives in Highland Park with her husband, 3 children and dog Brutus.

Theron May
Vice President & Designated Managing Broker
Theron joined Imperial in 2007 and today serves as Vice President & Director of Brokerage responsible for managing and growing transactional services (leasing, receiverships & investment sales) with a team of 12 who specialize in retail, office, industrial, multifamily and land services. Recipient of CoStar Power Broker Award in 2020, 2021 and 2022 for retail and office, he credits his success to a deep understanding of construction, legal and market knowledge. Prior to his current role Theron rotated through Imperial’s property management, construction and administrative departments learning the industry.
Theron graduated from Marquette University with a double Major in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship. At Marquette, Theron founded and served as President of the Real Estate Club. Under Theron’s leadership, the Real Estate Club grew to the largest student organization on campus.
Theron lives in the north suburbs with his wife and children and enjoys playing sports, traveling and volunteering with the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation.

Steve Freeman
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Freeman joined Imperial Realty in 1991 then again in 2000. Steve is Imperial’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing all financial activities of the company including financial risks, financial planning and recordkeeping,
as well as financial reporting to its officers. Steve’s mission is to assure the effective management and financial integrity of all Imperial Realty’s assets, activities, and resources by developing and implementing and monitoring Department-wide policies and systems in the areas finance and accounting, internal controls, and strategic planning.
Prior to joining Imperial Realty, Steve worked at ING Realty as a Portfolio Manager, was Project Manager for a large condominium conversion at Golub & Company, was Portfolio Manager at JMB Realty Company and worked as an Accountant in a public accounting firm as his first position after college.
Steve received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University and is a Certified Public Accountant. In his free time, Steve enjoys playing golf.

Ben Lockwood
Vice President & Director of Property Management
Ben Lockwood joined Imperial Realty in 1998. As Director of Property Management, Ben supports Imperial Realty Company’s mission, vision and values by exhibiting excellence and competence, collaboration and innovation. Through Ben’s mentorship, he leads the Property Management Department, Construction and Architectural Department. Ben is ownership’s liaison between property managers, architects, project managers, maintenance personnel, vendors and tenants. Ben oversees all capital projects, along with day-to-day supervision of operations of Imperial Realty’s portfolio.

John Hancko
Senior Property Manager
John is responsible for overseeing property managers, their teams, and guiding them to success within half of the company’s managed portfolio. John brings over 20 years of experience in real estate, private equity, commercial property management, brokerage sales &leasing, major construction and project management, finance and loans, portfolio management, and nationwide site development. John holds a business degree from DePaul University, and currently resides in the North Suburbs with his wife and two children. In John’s free time he enjoys watching his kids’ sporting events, spending time on Lake Michigan, and quality time with his family.

Eric Perry, Esq.
General Counsel
Eric joined Imperial Realty in 2025 and oversees the legal department and manages all legal affairs of the company; including property acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, corporate governance and compliance, and litigation. Eric brings over 30 years of legal experience, both as a partner in Perry and Baker and as a sole practitioner. Eric has represented thousands of individuals and companies in real estate transactions, purchase and sale of businesses, business formations, business disputes, civil litigation and estate planning. Eric is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois as well as the Northern District of Illinois Federal Court. He has served as a pro bono attorney representing veterans for the ABA Veterans Legal Service Initiative and has conducted educational seminars for real estate agents and brokers. Eric grew up in Evanston and graduated from DePaul University and Chicago Kent College of Law. Eric is a member of the Illinois Bar Association and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with his family and coaching baseball and basketball to children.

Gary Resis
Director of Human Resources
Gary joined Imperial in 2021 and has 35 years of experience in Human Resources. Gary received his bachelors degree from Loyola University in Chicago and his masters degree from New York University. Gary is responsible for the development and implementation and administration of Human Resources policies including full cycle recruitment, planning and staffing, benefits administration, emplyoee and labor relations, performance appraisals, and salary administration. Gary enjoys reading, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Ryan Smith
Vice President – Investments & Leasing
Ryan joined Imperial Realty in 2013. Ryan specializes in the sale and lease of office and retail buildings throughout the north and northwest suburban markets and has completed over 500 transactions valued in excess of $100 million. Ryan works for a number of private families and firms and credits his success to his deep market knowledge. Ryan is also responsible for leasing any and all of Imperial Realty’s properties in the Chicago Metropolitan Area.
Prior to joining Imperial, Ryan was a tenant representation broker at Vandon Forbes and Coldwell Banker Commercial specializing in office lease and sale transactions in the north and northwest suburban Chicago market. With Ryan’s real estate background and wisdom, Ryan can focus on the needs and execution of solutions that meet his client’s best interests.
Ryan graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Psychology and a Master’s in HR & Industrial Relations. Ryan also earned his Master’s of Accounting at Roosevelt University. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Bob Huber
Vice President – Investment Sales
Robert (Bob) Huber joined Imperial Realty in 1996 than again in 2006. In 1996, Bob was Imperial Realty’s Brokerage Manager and then was promoted in 1997 to Vice President of Brokerage. In 2006 Bob rejoined Imperial Realty to oversee its Acquisition and Distribution Team providing transaction development services to select clients throughout the Midwest.
After leaving Imperial and being Imperial Realty’s Broker-of-the-Year for each year, 1997 through 2001, Bob worked with Marcus & Millichap where he brokered investment properties, then moved on to Wex Trust Capital, where Bob served as its Managing Broker and Acquisition Adviser to the company. Bob’s accolades include completing of over 5 million square of leases, $500+ million in financings and $500+ million in investment sales. It can be said that Bob has sat at all sides of the table.
Bob earned his MBA from Indiana University and his JD in from Chicago Kent College of Law. Additionally, Bob is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois and Indiana as well as a member of the Illinois Bar. Originally born and raised in Texas, Bob graduated from East Texas State University and W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. An avid motorcycle rider and fitness enthusiast, Bob now resides in the Sauganash neighborhood of northwest Chicago.

Jason Lander
Senior Broker
Jason specializes in commercial sales and leasing for clients around Chicago. Jason brings a career of creative problem solving to every transaction and is an expert in negotiating, marketing and business strategy.
Prior to joining Imperial Jason worked for Berkshire Hathaway Commercial. Jason brings a long career of real estate transactional experience. Jason grew up in Chicago’s northern suburbs and earned his bachelors from DePaul University, is married and lives in Glenview. He enjoys snow skiing and mountain biking in his spare time.

Maureen Archey
Senior Broker
Maureen joined Imperial Realty in 2019 with a focus on leasing and investment sales of commercial and residential properties in the Chicagoland area. Maureen is also responsible for leasing any and all of Imperial Realty’s 100+ properties in the Chicago Metropolitan Area consisting of office, retail and industrial properties.
Prior to Imperial, Maureen was with Solid Realty Services and served as Senior IT Department Administrator for Mesirow Financial for over 12 years. Maureen studied Industrial Psychology at DePaul University. She grew up in the Beverly area and currently resides in the South Shore neighborhood. Maureen has many interests including love of dogs, skiing, and antiques.

Bogdan “Bo” Burszczyk
Senior Broker
Bo joined Imperial Realty in 2020 and brings over 10 years of commercial real estate experience representing the interests of tenants, landlords and developers specializing in sales and leasing of office, warehouse, and retail properties in the Chicagoland area with a focus on the O’Hare and Schaumburg submarkets.
Bo specializes in transactions for technology, logistics, domestic and international trading firms and has represented over 300 businesses handling their real estate requirements.
Bo earned a B.S. from DePaul University in Computer Systems Networking & Telecommunications and a B.A. at Northeastern Illinois University’s Board of Governors Program. In his occasional free time, he teaches martial arts and enjoys playing ping pong and tennis. Bo speaks English, Polish and Russian.

David Rosenthal
Senior Broker
David Rosenthal joined Imperial Realty in 2022 responsible for leasing any and all of Imperial Realt’s 100+ properties in the Chicago Metro area with a focus on Chicago’s North Shore. David has held an Illinois Real Estate Broker license for more than twenty years, and in 2018, he took further education to obtain his Managing Broker license as well.
David grew up in Deerfield and Winnetka, graduating from New Trier High School and Arizona State. After graduation, he spent many years living in Chicago where he was a trader on the Chicago Board of Trade for twenty years, the last fifteen of which he managed a Commodity Brokerage Clearing House and supervised over fifty traders.
He currently lives in Glenview with his wonderful wife. Described as calm, inquisitive, intelligent, understanding and able to see both sides of an issue, Mr. Rosenthal’s business background and analytical mind serve his clients well in Chicago, the North Shore communities and the surrounding suburbs.
