Highland Park City Council voted unanimously last night in support of Imperial Realty’s proposal of the re-development of the former 7-11 convenience store located at 515-555 Roger Williams Avenue in the Ravinia business district next to Ravinia Park. The proposal is a 51-foot-tall, four-story mixed-use building with three floors of apartments ranging from 650 – 1,180 square feet with 30 units above first floor commercial space situated next to the Metra Ravinia Park train station.
The building will contain thirty apartments, five of which will be set aside as “affordable” per Highland Park zoning regulation. The ground floor of the building will include nearly 5,500 square feet of leasable retail space. The development is positioned mere steps from the Metra Ravinia station, the Robert McClory Bike Path, several city parks, and is less than a mile from the popular Ravinia Music Festival.
